A member asked:

I have a high prescription for myopia. -11.25 left and -10.50 right. if my optometrist does thorough examination that involves looking at the retina and macula every exam. is it prudent to see a ophthalmologist as well?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes. an ophthalmologist is much better qualified to evaluate your eyes and vision. In a few years you may need bifocal glasses and it would be good to have a baseline evaluation of your eye health.
