A member asked:

I had a deep cut and lacerated the profundus flexor tendon on my pinky finger on the 2nd..i can only get surgery on the 15th.. is it too late, or surgery will be able to fix it?

Elective surgeries must be scheduled. Tomorrow is the 15th. Get the procedure finished, as this is not an emergency, but delaying for weeks can make the correction more challenging and difficult.

Surgery to correct a lacerated flexor tendon can be performed safely and effectively 13 days out from the injury. Having said that, sooner is better than later. In addition, flexor tendons lacerations to the small finger are complicated and the rehabilitation is long and intense.
