The common reason for pain in a tooth is infection. Antibiotics can temporarily control the infection and pain but you have to seek dental care from a dentist. The dentists often advise you to have a root canal done, which resolves the problem in the long range.

You may or may not be infected, so taking antibiotics may be useless. This issue will not resolve with meds alone, please see a dentist immediately for treatment.
