It is normal: To have difficulty sleeping after being diagnosed with any significant illness including cancer. Most of the time it will resolve once you have time to process information and embark on treatment. Sometimes a sleep aid may be necessary. If the anxiety is overpowering, or if you have thoughts of hurting yourself you need to talk to your doctor immediately.
