Everyone is different. I would ask Dr/friends in WI what is going around and how long does it take to get better. Sounds to me like you are close.

I assume you have no mouth sores. I assume you haven't injured your mouth. Dehydration from vomiting can cause swelling of the roof of the mouth. If swelling doesn't resolve in a day or so, get examined & advised by your physician or an ent specialist.
