Probably fine.: I don't know of any problem food poisoning and vomiting can cause on the roof of the mouth that would be serious. The lump, if it feels very hard under the gum may actually be normal bony anatomy for you. It's called a torus palatini and is not unusual. It's possible the vomiting irritated the gum over top of it and that's the first time it came to your attention. See a dentist for confirmation.
