Find out the cause of the lower GRF and treat that. Consider high blood pressure, diabetes or NASIDs kidney damage.

The usual goal for gfr is to conserve it by treating/eliminating conditions/drugs affecting kidneys. Good hydration is critical, your nephrologist remains your best resource.
