Those bowel symptoms are not normal. See a gastroenterologist if you can or at least see your family doctor then you will be referred.

I'd go directly to the gastroenterologist in order to expedite the workup and have any appropriate testing. Normally I'd consider your symptoms to be caused by the irritable bowel syndrome where mucus in BM,'s are common, but when mucus in BM's is copious, inflammatory bowel disease is a concern.
