Gallbladder removed wed & have had severe back pain since sat. doc said it was from laying down more than usual. today there was white mucus in my stool. read in another post it could be a colon infection. how do you get this & does it cause backpain?

Call surgeon now: This is abnormal and you need to contact your surgeon again ASAP. I don't think laying down in a normal condition causes severe back pain either unless you have a very bad mattress.

Postoperative Pain: Surgeons worry about a few things postoperatively. They worry about bleeding, they worry about pulmonary embolism, urinary tract infection from the catheter, and they worry about wound infections. If you have any shortness of breath or pain with breathing, pain in your calf, go to the ER for examination. Back pain can be caused by positioning during surgery, etc. Good idea to be seen, call surgeon
