Why does the band that goes over my 3rd metacarpal look like it's not going over the middle of the knuckle? when i bend my middle finger or form a fist the band looks like it's going over the complete left side of the knuckle (not over the middle)?

This is quite normal and a matter of entertainment for many school children. A "pop" may be felt as the tendon shifts over.
