Does valsartan 40mg have any effect on bp? only fda approved at 80mg and up for hypertension. currently getting 117/71, was getting 107/65 with 80mg, wondering how higher will it go if i stop taking it. bp used to be persistent 130s/80s?

This depends on your metabolism and other meds u r taking and your diet Na/K intake. Get app Cronometer and check how much of each u r eating. Te goal is to keep systolic less than 120 on as few meds as possible and you feeling normal. Read about DASH DIET if followed systolic will be down in one week and diastolic in 2 and u may be able to step down meds. Discuss with Drs.
