How do you know if cough is from reflux or sinuses? my mom also has a hiatal hernia. she does have a stuffy nose too. she goes for endoscopy follow up for barretts next week since been few years since last one?

Something has to irritate the upper respiratory area to produce cough. It is more common to be caused by any condition of the throat/ sinus than reflux from the esophagus. Wait till the esophagoscopy for an accurate answer. Wishing your mom well.
