A member asked:

I had a random urine test , normal level of albumin is under 30 mg/l, i had 310 mg/l of albumin in my urine. i have symptoms of muscle cramping and tetany all over my body. can the protein loss in my urine be causing these symptoms?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually, albumin in the urine is expressed as mg albumin/mg creatinine. More than 30 is abnormal. It looks like your urine albumin is high. You need to see your doctor. The "protein loss" by itself is not a problem but the underlying cause could be. Diabetes and hypertension are certainly potential causes, along with many other kidney diseases.
