Have had a very bad cough for a few days, woke up this morning and there was blood mixed in my spit when i cough, should i be worried? doc listened to my lungs yesterday and said everything is ok, and oxometer was 98%, just a very bad cough?

Extreme coughing can sometimes cause a small amount of blood to appear, and it's not serious. If there continues to be blood in the sputum after mild cough, or if it happens again, you may need additional evaluation. Causes of blood in the sputum include acute bronchitis, tuberculosis, tumors in the airways.
