Oxybutynin starts working within hours but may take a month for full efficacy. Although it's usually prescribed for long-term use, it comes with side effects warnings such as memory difficulties. You'll have to work with your prescribing physician to determine whether you should eventually discontinue it and try other measures to control urinary frequency & urgency.

It does work and takes 2-4 weeks to be fully effective. Dementia as a dide effect is more for older people. There are other medications with less side effects and you can discuss that with your doc. Hope you feel better
