A member asked:

I went in for a mammogram and ended up having to have a stereotactic core needle biopsy. the results said i had atypical ductal hyperplasia and multiple micro calcifications. the span of the micro calcifications are estimated at 9cm. is 9cm average?

calcifications by themselves are difficult to interpret. Sometime MRI or other tests are needed. your treating doc will advise you as she / he knows your clinical situation best.

The important thing to address is that there is no cancer. Calcification per se is not a meaningful item.
