Many clinicians & some studies have concluded that high levels of protein foods like meats and seafood can precipitate attacks of gout. Accordingly, protein supplements may not be advisable as long as you're not malnourished and eat a balanced diet. Moderation is key. Conversely, high intake of dairy foods may protect against gout episodes.
