My father 74 year old, take temazepam 15 mg every night. even when he don't need it. how long can you take temazepam and are any side effects for take this medication for a longtime period? more than a year. he has increased anxiety ect?

It is likely that he is taking it for sleep, works relatively well, there are no issues with stopping or continuing unless having side effects or drug drug interactions, he might lose its sleep inducing effect. Best to clarify would be his current prescriber.
