STIs almost never are fatal, except HIV if not treated. Oral STIs do not cause death, whether or not they are treated. And all oral STIs are cleared by the immune system over time. Sore throat or redness are not STI symptoms, and neither is an elevated white blood cell count. You could have a throat swab to check for oral gonorrhea, and blood tests for HIV and syphilis -- probably will be negative
