A transvaginal U/S with attention to the uterine lining to establish whether the uterine polyp is still present can be done at any time in your cycle. If the "mid-cycle spotting" is after sexual activity, it may be caused by chronic cervical inflammation, so see your GYN physician if the latter is the case.
