Post gallbladder removal ruq pain stopped. one week later the same pain returned. followed up with surgeon and they were not concerned at post surgery visit. pain comes and goes in ruq x 5 months. possible causes? us scheduled?

After surgery for gallbladder removal, it is possible that a gallstone could be lodged in the common duct, causing symptoms as described. Ask your surgeon about a GI physician referral for an ERCP, which can diagnose and remove a stone in the common duct.
