No, a pulse oximeter cannot rule in or out a future or current cardiovascular event or stroke. It may suggest an acute condition, however clinical context will be essential in further diagnosis workup.

When I check my heartbeat in the pulse oximeter, I noticed the numbers are fluctuating and not steady. For example: Heart rate goes up and down between 71 and 85, in a matter of seconds. I don't have pain or anything. Is it something normal?
