A member asked:

They found an abnormality in the frontal lobe of my brain and ive been noticing that my short term memory problems. what could the abnormality be. could it be from being bipolar 2 or borderline personality disorder?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Your psychiatric disorders do not cause structural anatomic anomalies in any area of the brain, and your short-term memory issues would not be associated with "an abnormality in the frontal lobe". Would wonder if memory issues are due to your stated diagnoses or even a sleep disorder. We can more thoroughly assess via a virtual consult (www.connect@healthtap.com)
