A member asked:

Can regular aspirin use (2-3 per week) cause moderate blood on ua test strip? how long will it take to go away after no aspirin has been taken?

I would not blame the UA results on that level of aspirin exposure. A thorough evaluation of several other possibilities would be prudent.

No, it is a less likely side effect of occasional aspirin use unless you have a very friable lesion in the urinary tract. Aspirin effect on bleeding time (for daily use) will wear off after 7 days. Positive urine dip stick test does not always mean microscopic hematuria. You should have a formal urinalysis done in 2 weeks after you have stayed off aspirin. You are OK if (-) microscopic hematuria.
