A member asked:

Is it possible to have symptoms of chronic pancreatitis without the pancreas being calcified or inflamed? i have had this pain in my chest for years and thought it was just ibs. also, i am scheduled for ct, what can they see for certain?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pancreas is nowhere near the chest. Yes pancreatitis can occur without calcification. If you have had this pain in your chest for years without harming you then it is probably not anything very serious. Best not to speculate and get your CT. Good luck
