A member asked:

Hello doctor,i take hiv 4th gen cmia test at 3,6,9 weeks all are negative. in the test results accuracy? when i take another test? some times i feel nasal congestion(but not heavy cold). im feeling worried?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A negative 4th gen combo test at 9 weeks after exposure, rules out HIV. However, HIV is only one of the STDs. A condom may not protect against HPV, Herpes, LGV, syphilis, pubic lice etc. It would be prudent to see your doctor for an evaluation.
