I got a script from my doctor but the pharmacy won't fill it due to prior authorization needed. over a week now, but i already got the medication elsewhere. the meds help a lot but i'm scared to tell my doctor i'm already taking it? am i in trouble?

For as long as taking the medicine the way it was prescribed you should not worry about telling your doc, so that their office can work in getting your medicine preauthorized.

Agree with Dr. P. You should always keep your doctor advised of all the medications you take, including supplements and over the counter drugs. Wish you good health!
