Diagnosed with afib. wore a zio monitor and had 1 run of ventricular tachycardia lasting 6 beats. what does this mean? do i now have vt also? already on metoprolol for rhythm. what could cause the vt?

6 beat V-tach is not that uncommon when patient is under monitored. You have underlying cardiac arrhythmia so this finding is probably more common than a person without history of arrhythmia. V tach could be idiopathic or due to electrolyte imbalance or some other underlying heart disease such as cardiomyopathy, congestive heart failure, etc. Metoprolol is not effective in V-tach.
