A fib: Your condition is paroxysmal atrial fibrillation if it resolved already. It may recur at unpredictable intervals and become persistent or permanent. Metoprolol is commonly used in controlling its rate and it can be stopped and/or replaced by other drugs. The most important would be to see a cardiac electrophysiologist in order to go over options going forward.
