Any break in the skin can introduce bacteria which can lead to a skin infection. If the toe is red, swollen and painful, see a Dr for treatment with antibiotics. Pregnancy increases the vascularity in the body which in the case of a skin infection can lead to more rapid bloodstream infections. Do not delay medical care.

If no redness or swelling soak in warm water, apply topical antibiotic cover with bandage. This should protect it and prevent infection.
