Due to psoriasis: The brittle, thinned texture to the toenails is related to your psoriasis. Keep in mind, the toenails are part of the skin system too.

Both: Psoriasis causes brittle toenails. It also leads to thickening of the nails which in turn rub against the shoes makes them fall off.
