Vomiting involves the upflow of very acidic stomach contents into areas that are not used to such severe acids. The esophagus, throat and mouth/teeth are not made to handle such acidic liquids. It is possible that the acid has severely irritated the lining of your esophagus/throat and is the cause of the pain. Make sure you are drinking lots of non acidic fluids, and eating a bland diet if you can
