They are sold over the counter. These drugs do not prevent reflux, only help to reduce the acidity of the gastric juice so it won't hurt your food pipe (esophagus) when this juice goes in the pipe. You should try pepcid or tagamet first because these do not have long term side effect. If they fail, you can use prilosec, prevacid, nexium, etc. You should learn antireflux measures (please google it)
