Can you take doxycycline if you have a history of gerd? i have heard it can cause oesophagus irritation and i have functional dyspepsia, gerd and mild gastroparesis. if yes are there are any tips i should use to reduce risks of those side effects?

You are correct about those possible side effects. However, nausea is the most common upper GI side effect and you may prevent the esophageal irritation or inflammation if you take the evening dose at least 2 hours before the bedtime.
