Can gerd/ulcer cause heart palpitations, burning sensation in stomach/oesophagus area in the morning and a burning sensation in the middle of the upper back during the day? how to treat? omeprazole?

Yes, GERD/ulcer can cause the symptoms you are describing. You should see your doctor for diagnosis and treatment. Omeprazole may help so perhaps you should try it while waiting for your doctor appointment. You may need to see a GI doctor for an upper endoscopy to diagnose the issue. Then, the best treatment can be rendered. Good luck!

Yes, Gerd can certainly cause those kind of symptoms. You can treat your Gerd with antacids initially, but if up to two weeks of omeprazole does not get rid of the symptoms, you should see your doctor for further evaluation. Good luck.
