I have gerd, and currently taking doxycycline heclate 100mgxday. my heartburn is even worse right now, while taking dexilant. i feel short of breathe, which is a ket symptom for me when acid reflux is a problem. does doxy cause acid reflux?

Doxy can directly irritate the esophagus, cause inflammation or even ulcerate the esophagus. It can cause heartburn and upset stomach. Try taking it with a full glass.of water after taking a liquid antacid recommended by your pharmacist and/or just after a meal.

What is the root cause of gerd? If LES is fixed( normal pressure) and still have gerd, how is that possible? I hear the term hyper acid sensitivity ?? Is that even real, or a term that used when you dont know, but still reflux? Short of breath?
