A member asked:

Whats does a right basilar atelectasis on a chest xray mean ? and how long will i take to recover from it ? will it cure on its own ? and what can i do at home to help it heal it fast ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

"Right basilar atelectasis" is a term for non-filling of the bottom portion of your right lung, and is not necessarily connected to a disease process. If you have respiratory symptoms, fever, chills or cough, see your physician for an exam and further testing.
