Not feasible to be precise without a direct exam, but you likely do have neuropathic pain. Most commonly this would involve lateral femoral cutaneous nerve (meralgia paresthetica), but could also be referred from hip or lumbar spine. I would suggest to avoid wearing tight pants and skip belt that may cause additional pressure on the nerves, I would also suggest to lose some weight if you are on the heavy side. You could try liniment with capsaicin and see if that helps. Leg exercises to reduce pressure on the nerves if done regularly may also help.
