Precordial chest pain does not mean the pain is always originating from the heart and at the same time a negative EKG does not rule out cardiac pain. Your are relatively young so ischemic heart pain, i.e. angina pectoris, is less likely especially with a normal EKG. It's difficult to give you a meaningful advice because a thorough med history & physical exam are required for different diagnosis.

I agree with Dr. Le that this is not necessarily a cardiac issue but could be a rib cage symptom. If you're overly concerned about a cardiac problem and examination of the heart & lungs & your EKG are normal, consider having a maximal treadmill stress test for peace of mind.
