How far back can a blood test detect covid? i contacted my doctor and they did lab work, which came back completely negative. they told me the test goes as far back as 240 days. the presumed infection was 7 months ago. should i believe my doctor?

There's no reason your doctor would lie to you about the test result. Unfortunately, some people do not make antibodies after the exposure or infection or the antibodies do not last long. You were infected 7 months ago so antibodies have gone. However, it doesn't mean you don't have natural immunity because your body has memory B and T cells which can still protect you if you're reinfected.
