Carvedilol is a beta blocker that lessens the work load of the heart by slowing heart rate & reducing force of contraction, while losartan is an angiotensin receptor blocker that works very differently, relaxing blood vessels to lower blood pressure, thereby reducing heart work load. They are not substitutes for each other. Call your MD or whoever covers for instructions who'll look up your record
