My grandma has anemia what should she do about it? it is because of low iron. the dr. said 3 months for the iron pills to work. thank you?

If your grandma was my patient, I would want to find out why her iron was low (ie- is she bleeding somewhere?) rather than just treating the low iron itself. Of course, that’s a discussion between your grandma and her doctor. I wish her well.

Agree with Dr. Madonna. It is important to rule out internal bleeding, e.g. from colon cancer, as the cause of anemia.
