When should i stop taking iron pills? im off and on with anemia. i had a physical in november and it showed slight anemia. i take my pills everyday + multi vitam and can feel that im better. should i continue taking them? its almost a year later.

Ferritin? hematocrit: 'Slight anemia" is not a valid diagnosis. Exactly what lab values were reported? Do you have heavy menstrual bleeding? Are you a blood donor or have you lost blood in some way? Do you have low serum iron [ferritin]? There are many anemias, of which iron deficiency is only one. Or are you at the low end of normal? Your Dr owes you a better evaluation and discussion. The multivitamin is not relevant
