You can look these: all up, e.g. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mean_corpuscular_hemoglobin_concentration, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_blood_cell_distribution_width, etc. If the MCV is ↓er Nl, combined with ↓ed MCHC these could be c/w some mild Fe deficiency currently. If Reticulocyte count is elevated, this would be c/w the↑ed RDW due to an ↓ed mix of younger, immature plus older cells. These values just clues.

Numbers are numbers: Lab results are numbers, and numbers are just numbers. They have little meaning without looking at the whole person. Low hemoglobin, hematocrit, and red blood cell counts means blood cells are not being made fast enough, are being lost (through bleeding), are being broken up, or any combination of such problems. Glucose goes up from increased body stress, inadequate insulin, I.V. Glucose, etc....

Possibly: Flu can include: fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, chills, extreme fatigue, and sometimes vomiting and diarrhea. If progresses and worsens, respiratory distress and worse. Colds can have the same but usually not extreme fatigue, muscle aches and chills.

49 year old with serious nasal congestion, really bad when lying down. Have had this problem for a while?

Seek treatment: Infection can cause congestion as well as bad allergies. There are medicines for both. We have many different medications for severe nasal allergies so see your doctor to know what treatment would be right for you. When you lie down the pressure in the veins of your nasal passages is higher and the congestion is usually worse. That is normal.

A 20-year-old female asked:

I had UTI and while I was getting treated I was bleeding a lot, like a normal period, but is that normal? I had my period a week before I had uti.

No: Treating a UTI should not cause vaginal bleeding. Sometimes a UTI can cause some blood in your urine but it is usually not heavy. It is possible the symptoms felt like a UTI but were from some other cause.
