Male 34 yr old. cholesterol of 246, ldl 149, triglyceride 278, hdl 42. starting to get numbness in left leg by knee. doc says maybe pad. should i worry? been trying to lower it all?

The numbness may be due to nerve compression rather than PAD. You are working on the cholesterol, regular exercises should improve circulation in the lower extremities and see whether tight socks or compression when seating may be responsible for the numbness. Worrying is never a solution anyway.

All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, your results are a cause for concern but not diagnostic of PAD, It would be prudent to consult a cardiologist. Wish you good health!
