Which strep as there are many? Strep A is not a common cause of otitis but may be an extension of strep A upper airway/throat infection that runs the risk of various strep related complications. (Heart/kidney/nervous system). Strep pneumococcus is a more common otitis germ prone to resistance to various antibiotics often leading to repeat treatments.
