Unless you have been consciously trying to lose weight I would suspect a significant health problem. I would schedule a visit with your doc as soon as you can for an exam and testing.

If you expended very little calories on your last job and on your new job expend very high amounts of calories, you would have had to increase your daily calorie intake as high as 4000-5000 calories to prevent weight loss. However, I would have expected a weight loss of around 20-25 lbs, not 55 lbs. I agree that you should have a comprehensive medical evaluation.
