Your finding could be a cyst, but there are other possibilities including a bone spur or sesamoid bone, perhaps a twisted bit of blood vessel, or maybe even an old splinter. I don’t know what part of the body this small nodule was found, but that might help. Next time you see your GP, have them examine it. Maybe an ultrasound study would help define the mass.
