Sounds like a cyst: The large ball under the skin is likely a cyst. They can arise from minor trauma to the skin or an ingrown hair. Drainage is usually temporary as they tend to slowly fill again. The best way to be rid of it is to excise/remove the whole cyst. Either way it's best to have your doctor check it. Hope that helps.

Boil: This is probably a Staph infection. Use frequent soaks in warm to hot compresses and if it comes to a head it should rupture and drain. If it then recurs you may have to see your family doctor and have it cultured and treated with antibiotics. Be careful and do not squeeze this. Good luck.

Throw away Fucidin: This should not be used this way. It will NOT relieve pain. You are not describing a condition which calls for any antibiotic. If you can squeeze out the contents os this cyst, GO AHEAD. When you empty it of sebum and pus it will heal better and feel better. If you have significant distress, a DR can drain it for you. Sometimes cortisone is injected into these to shrink them.
