PFD is best treated by an orthopedic surgeon. They may determine that surgery is needed, or it may be that more conservative methods can be used. No way to diagnose/advise without a full exam, history and imaging.

Dr Kratzberg is correct. It is very common for women to have very wide pelvis that’s what’s called Femerol anteversion of the hips creating a large quadricep angle or Q angle. By wearing a custom orthotics you can rotate the lower extremity allowing for better function of the knee joint.
